Standard grades of precision steel tubes for the automotive industry

In the production of cold-rolled precision steel pipes, periodic cold-rolled pipe mills are widely used to roll steel pipes. Periodic cold rolling pipe mills are divided into two types: roller type and roller type. Roll-type cold-rolling pipe mills are generally two-roll type, so they are often called two-roll cold-rolling pipe mills. Roller-type cold-rolling pipe mills have three or four rolls, so they are generally called multi-roll cold-rolling pipe mills. Sometimes they are called three-roll or four-roll cold-rolling pipe mills according to the number of rolls.


  An important aspect of the quality of precision steel pipe products is the removal of burrs in the welds. Due to the limitation of space, the removal of burrs in small diameter steel pipes has always been a technical difficulty in the steel pipe manufacturing industry. Therefore, choosing a suitable welding method from the welding technology is an effective way to solve the problem. The welding methods for producing small internal burrs include direct current welding and square wave resistance welding. These welding methods are characterized by uniform heating, smooth welding seams, good quality, and small internal burrs, generally only 0.1 to 0.2 mm.


   In recent years, the automobile industry at home and abroad has promoted lightweight vehicles to save energy, and there is an urgent need to replace physical parts with high-strength hollow parts. It is technically feasible to develop high-strength steel pipes instead of seamless pipes to meet the needs of the automotive industry. In the development of high-strength steel pipes for the automotive industry, Japan has successively developed C-Ti-B, C-Mn-Nb, C-Cr-AI-B and other steel grades, and adopts different heat treatment systems according to different purposes. Such as annealing, normalizing and quenching, tempering, etc. It is used for high-strength steel pipes in the automobile industry, and its standard strength grades are 561MPa, 637MPa, 980MPa, etc. In addition to requiring high strength, steel pipes are also required to have high plasticity, good workability, hardenability, toughness and fatigue strength, etc.
