Metal Processing Equipment - Cold Rolling Machine

2-1-cold rolling mill

The cold rolling machine, as a high-precision metal processing equipment, its control system mainly covers the following core functions:
1. ‌Flake shape control‌
Single-side wave adjustment‌: By increasing the rolling pressure on the opposite side, the single-side wave on the transmission side or the operating side can be eliminated.
Composite wave handling‌: Prioritize eliminating the middle wave (reduce the bending roll force or the middle roll vibration amount), and then adjust the bending roll force of the front frame to handle the bilateral wave.
Hydraulic bending roll technology‌: By compensating for the roll gap shape changes through positive/negative bending roll, the lateral thickness difference can be improved.
Temperature control method‌: Segmentally adjust the cooling fluid flow rate to change the hot crown of the rolling roll to adjust the flake shape.
2. ‌Thickness control (AGC system)‌
Feedback control‌: Detect the thickness deviation through the outlet thickness gauge, and integrate the correction for long-term errors.
Feedforward control‌: Track the thickness deviation at the inlet to the roll gap position, and adjust the roll gap in real time.
Metal second-flow control‌: Predict the outlet thickness based on the principle of metal flow conservation during the rolling process.
Bending roll force compensation‌: Convert the bending roll force change into the offset of the roll gap reference value, reducing the thickness fluctuation.
3. ‌Tension control‌
Constant tension rolling‌: Achieve high-precision tension stability through feedback from the photoelectric encoder, avoiding strip breakage.
Rolling mill control‌: Automatically calculate the roll diameter and compensate for the tension to ensure the quality of the rolled piece.
4. ‌Roller and process parameter control‌
Rolling reduction management‌: Limit the extreme values of the rolling reduction based on the roller strength to ensure process safety.
Roller eccentricity compensation‌: Detect the periodic thickness changes through the thickness gauge and dynamically adjust the roll gap.
Cooling and lubrication‌: Segmental cooling control the flake shape, and the lubrication system reduces surface defects.
5. ‌Automation and monitoring‌
PLC logic control‌: Integrate the interlocking logic of transmission, hydraulic, and lubrication equipment.
Data recording and analysis‌: The upper computer monitors signals such as speed, pressure, and temperature, optimizing production. Modern cold rolling mills achieve high-precision control of plate shape, thickness and tension through the coordinated operation of multiple systems. At the same time, they rely on automation technology to enhance stability and efficiency.
