Understanding The Working Principle Of The Hot Rolling Machine

The Performance Differences Between Hot-rolled Steel And Cold-rolled Steel

The hot rolling machine is one of the main products of our factory. We are an outstanding supplier of rolling machines in China and we support customized solutions. The working principle of the hot rolling machine is to achieve plastic deformation of metal through high-temperature and high-pressure rolling. The core process is as follows:
Heating of the steel billet: The steel billet is heated to 1150-1300℃ (close to the melting point), softening the metal grains and reducing the deformation resistance.
High-pressure rolling: The hot steel billet is rolled by multiple sets of rolls (such as roughing mill and finishing mill), with the roll pressure reaching several thousand tons, similar to the process of "pressing noodles". The roll gap adjustment device (reduction device) precisely controls the roll gap to form the required thickness.
Continuous deformation: During the rolling process, the steel billet undergoes repeated compression and extension, and the grain structure is refined, ultimately forming high-strength and high-toughness plates or strips.
Cooling and coiling: After hot rolling, the steel is cooled by the cooling system and rolled into steel coils by the coiler, making it convenient for transportation and subsequent processing.
